These sewing kits are “Learn to Sew” kits – I’m a teacher who is passionate about Textiles, and who wants to encourage people to learn to sew. It can be a fun, creative and useful skill, and something you can do alone or in a group. You can “lose” yourself in it if you’re having a bad day, and you can also find yourself in it; or at least that’s my own experience.
My instructions are PDF documents with full colour photographs and detailed explanations – with each step broken into smaller steps; I’d rather explain too much than too little. They’re available online and are password protected – the password will be in with your kit.
The first 4 kits (Scented Pyramids, Small Basket, Appliqué Tea Towel and Pincushion) are intended to build up the basic sewing skills you need for a whole range of projects. These four kits include certain essentials too, such as pins, threads, tape measure. I’ve created them so that if you make these items in this particular order, you should have enough thread and basic equipment to make them with nothing more than a sewing machine and some scissors.
The other kits contain all the materials and components (eg buttons) you need to make a product, but don’t include thread. Most can be made up with cream, ivory or white thread.
