We are based in the Lake Trasimeno area of Umbria, Italy, which is right on the border with Tuscany. We look out onto Tuscany – including Lake Chiusi and Monte Cetona – at the front, and Umbria at the back.
You can either:
(1) book to come on your own, or
(2) book with a friend/s who also wants to spend time in the studio, or
(3) travel with a non-sewing friend/partner.
If you book to come on your own, I will advertise the dates you’ve chosen to see if someone else wants to come along at the same time, but can’t guarantee someone will. Or, you can request to be here on your own and I won’t advertise those dates* – it’s up to you. In 2023 I had 3 holidays where people spent the week here on their own, and they loved it, so if you fancy that option do get in touch. I also ran holidays with 2/3 sewing friends travelling together plus one with a couple where one person sewed, the other just relaxed; it’s really up to you, and what you enjoy!
Who comes on a Textile Holiday? Experienced sewists who have been passionate about Textiles for many decades, and also complete beginners, wanting to learn new skills from scratch… What they’ve all had in common is the desire to forget about “normal life”, to escape to the peace of the countryside, to spend time being creative, to relax in lovely surroundings and to visit interesting Italian towns and cities.
With a creative activity holiday you don’t just leave feeling refreshed and with happy memories, but also with new skills and ideas to take back and build on in future projects.

One person travelling alone £850: I will try and find someone else to come along that same week (unless you’d rather I didn’t – see above*) . If I manage to find someone, the cost will be reduced, to £800 each.
Two guests coming together- £1600 (that is, £800 each)
Three guests coming together – £2400 (i.e. £800 each) with 1 person in their own room, 2 sharing a twin room, but with everyone having their own private.
Four guests coming together – £1600 (£800 each) Unfortunately, although the studio is large enough for 4 guests, the sleeping accommodation isn’t. If you are a group of 4 friends travelling together, we can help you find suitable accommodation locally, but you would need to hire a car in this instance – there isn’t adequate public transport and our (current) car is too small for 4 guests. In order to make this option both affordable for you, and feasible for us, there is a reduced price for these sewing holidays. The studio would be available from 10am until 5pm for 4 days, and I would still be available for tuition as/when needed according to the holiday chosen/description. You’d still have use of the guest sitting room/kitchen on those studio days, plus of course a shower-room for the wc and use of shower etc. The garden/pool and sitting room/kitchen/bathroom is available during the day (10am – 8pm) for the whole week of your holiday, not just on the studio days.
Non-participating partner/friend sharing your room: £400
Non-participating partner/friend in their own room: £600
