If you love the idea of creating patchwork cushions and throws/quilts, but don’t have very much experience (or confidence) with a sewing machine… If you have already done some patchwork, but only by hand… If you want a new hobby which also allows you to make gifts for your friends and family, or add furnishings to your home….. Then this might just be the holiday for you…
This holiday is 7 nights/6 days long, with 4 days in the Studio and 2 days to relax or explore – see What is included?
This holiday assumes some (perhaps limited) experience in using a sewing machine, but contact me to discuss if you’re a complete beginner – you can learn to sew with patchwork!
If you already do patchwork, you can just bring your own project to work on in the studio – but you must know what you’re doing without any help from me – I am not a patchwork expert!
You should find you’ll have time to make one complete lap quilt and maybe also start a second. I know that sounds unlikely, but these quilts are designed to come together fairly easily, but of course it does depend very much on your skills. Lap quilts/throws offered:
- Bargello (app. 1m x 1.15m)
- Woodland Walk lap quilt/throw (app. 1m x 1m)
- Log Cabin – please note that this is more time consuming than the other quilts because it’s made in a more traditional way. (app. 1m x 1m)
- Afternoon Tea (my own design) – this is approximately 1.3m x 1.3m
- Points and Corners – a set of 4 cushion covers using “Charm Squares”
Supplementary projects if you don’t want to make a second “big” project:
- Garden Maze cushion covers
- Bargello infinity scarf
- Table mat, either for everyday use or for Christmas
