I joined Facebook not long ago so I can finally comment on my first sewing holiday which I hope is going to be the first of many at Le Jardin du Berger.
Brownen and John were wonderful hosts. I had one to one tuition for 5 days, free access to the sewing room and not enough hours to sew sew sew.
Bronwen is so patient! I chose two dress patterns: a shirt dress to work on collars, sleeves, cuffs, button holes. A blouse with a simpler pattern where the difficulty was working with a silky fabric. On the last one, Bronwen showed me how to go for the crossgrain to obtain a very original flow with the design. And as a bonus, she reviewed a tweed pleated skirt I was having trouble hemming and gave me the necessary instructions and recommendations to finish it without it looking like a ball gown.
Their superb accommodation and location plus wonderful weather were the icing on the cake.
Do not hesitate to book your sewing retreat with Bronwen. She gave me the confidence to persevere. And the excuse to continue shopping for more fabric in Barcelona at Ribes & Casals, Dona and Julian Lopez (which opened not long ago), a real GEM.
