I really enjoyed my week at Bronwen´s textile studio this summer, I would have loved to have stayed longer.
I arrived with the idea of reviving my interest in free motion machine embroidery, which I’d tried out many years ago, So, I spent several hours, usually in the morning, in the studio with Bronwen on hand who guided me and gave me ideas on how to develop the technique, showing me some of the beautiful pieces that she herself had created over the years. Her studio is a lovely, spacious, inspiring place to work.
As it was really hot weather that week after lunch we spent some time relaxing in the pretty accommodation with it’s picturesque views and after a quick dip in the pool we would spend the rest of the afternoon and evening visiting quaint towns and villages, sampling local cuisine and wines. One day we even took a boat trip across Lake Trasimeno.
Bronwen and John were the perfect hosts and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and advised us on things we could do and places we could visit, often even taking us there themselves.
I think Bronwen´s ‘made to measure’ approach to the textile holidays is excellent, allowing the client to choose the content and the intensity of studio time according to their particular interests and needs. Thank you Bronwen and John for a lovely holiday, I wiil definitely be back!
