We are based in the Lake Trasimeno area of Umbria, Italy, which is right on the border with Tuscany. We look out onto Tuscany – including Lake Chiusi and Monte Cetona – at the front, and Umbria at the back.
We originally set up this business in France, as “Textile Holidays France” in 2016 and we’ve welcomed people from the UK, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, Spain, Greece and of course France… We moved to Italy in September 2020, but the opening of the business here was delayed because of Covid.
You can either:
(1) book to come on your own, or
(2) book with a friend who also wants to spend time in the studio, or
(3) travel with a non-sewing friend/partner.
If you book to come on your own, I will advertise the dates you’ve chosen to see if someone else wants to come along at the same time, but can’t guarantee someone will. Or, you can request to be here on your own and I won’t advertise those dates. In 2023 I had 3 holidays where people spent the week here on their own, and they loved it, so if you fancy that option to get in touch. I also ran holidays with 2/3 sewing friends travelling together plus one with a couple where one person sewed, the other just relaxed; it’s really up to you, and what you enjoy!
Who comes on a Textile Holiday? Experienced sewists who have been passionate about Textiles for many decades, and also complete beginners, wanting to learn new skills from scratch… What they’ve all had in common is the desire to forget about “normal life”, to escape to the peace of the countryside, to spend time being creative, to relax in lovely surroundings and to visit interesting Italian towns and cities.
With a creative activity holiday you don’t just leave feeling refreshed and with happy memories, but also with new skills and ideas to take back and build on in future projects.

I’m looking for a weeks holiday, probably clothes making or possibly Bargello work, I can find the details when I hover over Textile hidays
Hello Michele,
Thank you for your enquiry. I’m sorry you couldn’t find the dates – thank you for telling me – I’ll have a look to see what’s wrong.
I’m running a dressmaking holiday from 17th-24th May – I’m flexible on start dates so you could arrive on, for example 18th instead. If those dates suit let me know (info@lejardinduberger.com) and I can give you more info. Alternatively, I’m running a Bargello holiday from 19th – 26th April (again, flexible start date if needed). For both holidays, you’d have a private en-suite room.
Do let me know if you fancy either of these.
Best wishes,
Bronwen
Could you please send details of 2023 courses in Italy as well as house to rent. Thank you
Would love to have a sewing holiday with you – probably in October – Could you please send me dates and details of courses? Thank you!
Hi Leonie, Thanks for contacting me. Apologies for being slow to respond only I rarely get contacted this way, so I don’t check the comments section very often. My email address is: info@textileholiday.com
I’m afraid October is booked already – I have dates available between 16-24th June, between 21st July and 7th August and between 22nd August and 11th September. I’m really sorry! Best wishes, Bronwen
