After making a batch of machine embroidered baskets/drawstring bags, I thought I’d spend a bit more time working on a larger piece of free motion embroidery… I created a small picture of teasels, then did a larger version. I thoroughly enjoyed it – I used to do a lot of this type of work, but in a completely different style – when I made Christening Wear for a living. That said, it lead to a very boring but useful couple of days sorting through all my scraps of printed cotton fabrics…..and organising them according to colour!
Afterwards, though, a very enjoyable walk taking photos for future embroideries, probably to work on over the winter months, when I have more time.
