There’s a fantastic warehouse just over an hour’s drive from here, where they sell a fantastic range of different fabrics AND have two separate, huge warehouses full of leather. I want to experiment more with making leather bags and have been wanting to come for weeks, and yesterday I finally had chance. Luckily, they only had 5 colours of the type I wanted, but it was still a hard choice… In the end – and the photo does not do them justice! – I bought a gorgeous emerald green, a rich navy blue and the darkest black… Then I headed for the fabric warehouse – It’s the only place outside Manchester where I’ve ever bought fabric by weight, and it can be a bit confusing! Some is sold by weight, others by the metre, and the prices vary so much that I’m always a bit afraid of how much I’m going to end up spending… I specifically wanted knitted fabrics, ready for the upcoming Intermediate workshops on “Knits”, and after much deliberation, bought three different kinds – two lightweight/ T shirting the third a bit heavier… It’s been so warm and sunny lately, it’s hard to even imagine wearing something as warm as that, but I know the time will come!
Richly-coloured leather…

Will be in Bordeaux soon please please where is the leather warehouse? I know Diffus Laine in Gradignan but as far as I know they don’t sell leather
Hello Anne,
I’m relatively new to France – there might be somewhere closer to Bordeaux, but the warehouse I referred to is “Decourt Freres” at Javerlhac. https://decourt-freres.fr It’s in the Dordogne, west of Nontron.
They’ve got a huge warehouse of fabrics, and two (or so it appeared) of leather. All different kinds, colours etc.
Hope this helps. Bronwen
