I’ve planned to do some Goldwork embroidery for months and months, but never seemed to find the time. Then I found the time, prepared a little design, sorted out some navy cotton velvet – but couldn’t find my gold threads! Then, just before Christmas I found the threads but was too involved in making patchwork cushion covers to slow down and do hand-stitching!
Today, though, seemed exactly the right sort of day to tackle it. So, after my morning run – and I got home just before it started pouring down! – I settled at my desk (newly installed in front of the barn doors) and started work on this little bee. It’s a simple design – suitable for beginners – and includes a variety of simple techniques.
