Embroidery, both hand and machine, has always been my first love. Years ago, when I sold my own range of Christening Wear, in Wakefield (uk) craft market, I also sold small machine embroidered pictures. They were mainly landscapes, inspired by the Yorkshire countryside. However, they were very stitch heavy, and I’ve been trying to update my style…to produce pictures that are more abstract, and with fewer stitches. Here, I obviously haven’t gone for the abstract, but I’m pleased that I’ve managed to do fewer stitches, and combined the embroidery with some fabric collage. I’ll add hand stitching too. I do have some more abstract pieces prepared, and intend to work on them in the next few days.
