The fields at the moment are perfect for machine embroidery or pen and ink… The colours are so intense, the sunlight bright, the shadows long… I’m surprised it’s so warm – mid 30s today! – I wasn’t expecting it to be quite this warm in September. The sunflowers were harvested a couple of weeks ago, and the lower part of the stems are still lying in the fields, creating wonderful patterns against the soil…
