I’d forgotten just how therapeutic patchwork can be! I’ve spent the last couple of days making a small (1metre
quare) “quilt-as-you-go” log cabin throw in readiness for one of the workshops. I haven’t made one for years and I’ve neve
r quilted at the same time as joining the strips… It’s a great method of avoiding manipulating a large piece of wadding, but I think I prefer adding it afterwards. I like to be able to give my seams a really good press so they’re really flat, but of course the wadding prevents that. Still, I’m fairly pleased with the results. Incidentally, I used a jelly roll from moda so i could calculate the number of strips needed in future; I love the colours!
