Appliqué is great for learning to control, the sewing machine, and to manage different fabrics, preventing them from distorting… My “Beginners’ ” workshops and some holidays cover appliqué, in the form of decorative tea towels, which make great gifts. They’re simple and not too time-cosuming and a great initial project. However, today I wanted to make something with a little more decoration… Something particularly for the “Creative Textiles” holiday. I made a simple tote bag, but then at the end decide to “box” the corners, to make it more 3 dimensional.
Frustratingly, the labels I ordered a couple of weeks ago arrived just after I finished today’s sewing! They’re much better than I expected… I just need to find time, now, for my own sewing!
