This afternoon I ran the 2nd half of a Sashiko/Boro workshop – the first was two weeks ago. After that workshop, the “students” went home to continue working on the 4 panels of their bags/baskets… Two were hand-stitched, two machine-stitched. The project is intended as an introduction to this fascinating Japanese art. Today, 4 gorgeous bag/baskets were finished – all made in the same way, all very original. I know at least 2 of the ladies are already inspired to do more Sashiko sewing – it can be quite addictive and is perfect to do while sitting in a comfortable chair in the evenings!
Each product has 4 distinct sides, so it’s hard to choose which photos to show…
