Yesterday saw the second of my “Group A” beginners’ workshop and the main focus was appliqué. We discussed fabric grainlines and distortion across the bias, and the use of interfacing to prevent this. The tea cloth was double hemmed, appliquéd using satin stitch and machine embroidery threads, and was then finished off with a colourful, co-ordinating band of fabric. The results were fantastic, and made me want to make another one myself!
