On last week’s residential sewing holiday, a group of 4 ladies came along to spend the week on patchwork projects. They spent lots of time sewing in the studio, but also cooking/eating together, had time relaxing in the garden/the pool, walking through the woodland and even doing yoga in the garden – I joined them on one morning!
They each made 3 items – a lap quilt, an infinity scarf, and either bunting or a patchwork doorstop. Everything was very beautifully made but – more importantly, I think – they also had lots of laughs along the way. We all agreed that there’s a particularly healthy mindfulness involved in sewing.
Here is the first quilt that was finished – the others to follow over the next few days!
