I’ve been working through the projects designed for the Beginners’ fortnightly workshops, starting in October… Today I made a patchwork cushion cover sample, using Moda 100% cotton fabric in blues and creams. It’s usually a bit of a pain designing the prototype, because things don’t always fit together as you’d hoped, especially where patchwork is concerned. This time, though, it did and all I have to do now is draw/write out and photocopy the pattern pieces and measurements. The doorstop project is an extra one, for those who finish the tea cloth or patchwork cushion faster than expected! It’s a project that can be as simple or complicated as you want, and allows a fair bit of creativity to practice those sewing machine skills.
