• It has a drawstring for keeping bread fresh.
• There’s a “keep warm” base – pop it into the microwave for 2-3 minutes and it will keep the bread warm
• When you close the drawstring there’s a small hole at the top to allow the steam to escape.
• For serving/ at the table – undo the drawstring and tuck the fabric inside, leaving a breadbasket with turned down top.
• You can also make a simple basket version – without the drawstring
The pattern is suitable for people new to sewing – it demands accuracy, but the processes used are straightforward. It’s also a great pattern for embellishing – if you enjoy patchwork or embroidery, you can adapt this pattern to make it suitable to display your work.
