This holiday assumes some knowledge of using a sewing machine – email me for more details.
Techniques covered:
- Internal zipped pocket
- External zip with fabric ends
- Boxing corners
- Mini darts
- Free machine embroidery
- Adding a lining
- Sewing with webbing
What you’ll make:
- Lined make-up bag with boxed corners
- “Pippa” bag with detachable straps
- Internal crossbodybag for the “Pippa” bag – it can be used separately
- “Jendy” bag
Below is an example of how your week might be organised (photos below):
STUDIO DAY 1 – On your first day, you will make lined zipped purse. You’ll also cut out the bag you’re making next, the “Pippa” bag.
STUDIO DAY 2 – You will make up your “Pippa” bag, which has an internal zip pocket.
STUDIO DAY 3 – In the morning you’ll make an internal bag to go inside your “Pippa” bag. In the afternoon you’ll learn free machine/free motion embroidery is completely different from other kinds of sewing – it’s like drawing with the needle. It’s great fun, and with good resources, beginners can produce effective results; it might be something you’d like to incorporate on your next bag. 
STUDIO DAY 4 – Your final full day in the studio and you’ll start to make up the “Jendy” bag.
