This holiday assumes some knowledge of using a sewing machine.
Techniques covered:
- Using a commercial pattern
- Practical/making skills – this depends very much on which pattern you choose.
What you’ll make:
- A garment – please email me to discuss suitability!
- For complete beginners, the standard project is pyjama bottoms
SEWING DAY 1 – We’ll look at the commercial pattern envelope and the pattern pieces and I’ll explain the terminology. You’ll measure yourself (in the privacy of your room!) and then you’ll cut out the paper pattern, then the fabric. You’ll transfer any markings ready for making up and hopefully have chance to make a start on the manufacture.
SEWING DAY 2 – A full day making up the garment.
