Spend a summer week in sunny Umbria sewing in my studio in the mornings and relaxing in the afternoons. Swim in the pool, explore the local hill-top towns or read a book under a shady tree. If you want to, of course, you can use the studio in the afternoons!
This holiday is 7 nights/6 days long, with 4 mornings (each morning approx. 3 hours) – in the studio. It’s ideal for a holiday with a friend* or perhaps two couples with 2 (or more) people participating, others not. I’m a UK qualified teacher for ages 11-18 and am happy to teach you children too, as long as as adult accompanies them to the classes.
* I can only run the holiday if there are at least 2 people booked in on it. If you’re interested and travelling alone, you can let me know and I’ll confirm it with you if someone else books the same dates.
This holiday assumes some limited experience in using a sewing machine.
WHAT YOU WILL MAKE:
- an infinity scarf
- a tote bag
- a patchwork cushion (or appliqué if you prefer)
- a zipped pouch – if you have time.
Below is an example of how your week might be organised:
STUDIO MORNING 1 – The morning in the studio begins with an introduction to my sewing machines. You’ll make an infinity scarf – which make great gifts!
STUDIO MORNING 2 – Another morning in the studio making a tote bag. If you have time, you might also make a little storage pouch for it.
STUDIO MORNING 3 – In the morning you’ll start to make a patchwork cushion cover – appliqué if you prefer.
STUDIO MORNING 4 – This morning in the studio time you’ll finish your cushion cover – or finis it off at home and instead make a zipped pouch/make-up bag.
