These are photographs of a gorgeous, luxurious collar made in today’s workshop. Fabrics used were navy velvet and magenta corduroy and satin-backed dupion – a tricky combination, but that was the whole point! Learning to sew with pile fabrics and slippy fabrics was the focus of the workshop. I love the result – and the way the lilac elastic loops and silver flower-shaped buttons really complement it. A matching velvet gift bag was made – perfect for presenting these collars but also for keeping in a bag for storage of any scarf, to prevent them from snagging.
In the same workshop, others were making shoulder bags, and learning pleats, darts and gathers – but I forgot to take “work in progress” photos, I’m afraid!
