I’m sure there’s a patchwork block called “Garden Maze”… Certainly, I doubt I’ve invented a new block! However, this week I’ve been experimenting with using jelly roll strips (“Garden Notes”, by Moda) for creating cushion covers suitable for relative beginners and this is what I came up with. They DO make me think of a garden maze…!
Each one uses 7 strips, so for more experienced sewists, it’s a great way to use the remaining strips from other projects, such as a Bargello quilt. My Bargello quilt workshop uses 20 – 26 strips, which is why I wanted to create a cushion cover using 7 strips! These are especially for our white wicker kitchen chairs, but I might just run a workshop showing how to make them, in the spring. They might well become one of my sewing kits, too.
