Well, my mini holiday has been extended! I’ve not been in the studio, though I have been working on other related projects. Mainly, though, I’ve been enjoying living here in South West France. It’s only our third summer here, and in the first year we couldn’t really take much time off to explore. Since Oct 1016, I’ve also been working hard in the studio, devising projects, creating patterns, running workshops and holidays… So, it just feels very self-indulgent to take a chunk of time off, but that’s what I’ve done in the last 2-3 weeks…
Last week we drove to Royan, St Georges de Didonne and Meschers – it was gloriously sunny and yet we could still find quiet little beaches and bays to explore. The following day, we went to the Île d’Oléron where the old fishing huts have been painted and turned into craft/gift shops, which were lovely to wander round. There’s so much inspiration there, too, for creativity!
