The Intermediate workshop today focussed on different kinds of sheer fabric – voile, chiffon, organza, georgette etc – and I gave out samples of these fabrics made from different fibres. (e.g. silk organza and polyester organza) – to feel the difference. The mini projects were a lavender scented pillow square and a hanging sachet. These have organza sections which allow the scent of the lavender to escape, and enable you to see the lavender, too. There were some great choices of fabrics and as always it was interesting to see the really varied results. I thin everyone would agree – cutting the organza was the hardest part!
