Since our April/May holidays have not been able to go ahead, and I can’t run workshops, I’ve been focusing on the other element of our business; making things to put in my Etsy shop. That is, once I can get out to buy backing fabrics/ribbons etc for finishing off! So, in the last couple of weeks I’ve made an “Afternoon Tea” lap quilt – see main photo. It’s quite good – for me – to do that sort of sewing when I’m finding it hard to concentrate. It’s not terribly demanding, is quite repetitive, but you do need to focus, so I can switch off from worries and just ennui the process.
Equally, batch production… I love to devise a new project and them work out ways to batch produce it, for a better, note consistent, quality finish. I’ve made a batch of drawstring bag/baskets embellished with free machine embroidery I must say, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the free machine embroidery this week – though my studio has been a complete and utter mess!
