Here are a few photos of the area very close to the house… There’s a bar in Villastrada, about 5 minutes drive away, that does great – inexpensive – pizzas, aperitivi, ice cream…

There’s another bar 4km in the other direction in a village called Gioiella that also does great food. There’s a wine producer – Poggio Santa Maria – 1km from the house, and they do organised wine tastings/visits – we haven’t been yet but it’s “on the cards”. Poggio Santa Maria.
There’s also one just before Villastrada, where they host picnics on Sunday evenings in summer. Madrivete.
Plus, we are almost directly opposite the Etruscan Paradiso Tomb:
The front of the house looks out onto Tuscany – we are directly opposite Chiusi Lake, and you can see Monte Cetona behind it. From a few paces in either direction, you can also see Monte Amiata. The back of the house looks not the Umbrian countryside.
