I spent the afternoon planning and making a Christmas cushion. I wanted to create something quite simple, and with the effect of free machine appliqué, but without dropping the feed. It’s unlike me to aim for something which looks “imperfect” – but it was so liberating, and so much fun! I just created stylised (triangular) Christmas trees in red/white spotted pots, stitched onto a natural linen background. Tomorrow I’m hoping to make a patchwork-trimmed Christmas stocking. Both projects are for my Christmas Sewing workshop, which runs on 9th November.
